Access Statement for Rose & Crown Yealmpton
The Rose and Crown is situated in Yealmpton, a beautiful Devon village nestled just inside the South Hams and only 5 miles from Plymouth. We're lucky to be just a few miles from beautiful countryside walks and some of Devon's best beaches.

We offer guests a proper village pub experience. Our comfy leather sofas and log burning fire make for a welcoming atmosphere. We are dog friendly in the bar and have disabled facilities throughout.


All of our ales our sought from the Award Winning St Austell Brewery in Cornwall. We have a carefully selected Wine List that will suit all palettes and occasions with a variety of wines offered by the glass.

We have a large Private Car Park, 2 beer gardens, a large bar/pub area, free Wi-Fi, a stylish dining room also equipped with a small Private Room for personal occasions. Also, check out our multipurpose Function Room link for an amazing event room.

The nearest railway station is Plymouth Train Station, which is approx. 10 miles away (a 25 minute drive).

Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance, see Contact Information for details.

The nearest bus stop is approx 50m from the pub - ask the driver for the stop on Market Street.

 

Car Parking and Arrival
There is free parking on site for customers. The car park is situated at the rear of the Pub.

The car park surface leading to the side entrance is uneven with a gravel surface and has no kerbs.

Customers can be dropped off point at the front entrance of the pub.

There are no steps leading to the main entrance.

The front door is a single door, manually operated, opens inwards and lightweight.

The front door width is 1050mm wide.

Staff are wiling to help Customers as they enter the pub please ask for assistance if needed.

 

Bar & Bar Area and Dining Area/Restaurant
The bar and restaurant are situated on the ground floor.

Entry to the restaurant and WCs is by a low gradient ramp.

The bar and restaurant have level access throughout.

There is no lowered section of the bar. Drinks can also be served at the table on request.

There are tables and chairs with bar stools in the bar area. Both the bar and the restaurant have a mixture of upright chairs with and without arms and tables are well spaced apart, with a clear height from the floor of 630mm.

Lighting is natural daylight supplemented with overhead and wall lighting. Candles are lit on tables in the evenings throughout.

There is background music played throughout the premises.

The flooring is a mixture of wood floorboards and short pile carpets.

We do our best to cater for dietary and allergen requirements; please discuss your needs with our Staff who will be happy to help.

Food and drinks are ordered at the Bar but if needed Staff can take your order at the table.

Menus are printed in large paper format with clear large fonts.

Crockery is colour contrasted with the tables.

There is no pool table or dart board in this pub.

 

Customer Toilets
Customer toilets can be found on the ground floor to the rear of the bar.

Access is via a gentle ramp up from the front entrance, bar and restaurant areas. There is level access from these areas to the unisex accessible toilet, described below:

Entrance door 790mm wide and level entry into the toilet.

980mm/38.5ins transfer space to the left of the toilet, when facing the toilet.

Toilet height is 480mm.

Sink height is 720mm.

Horizontal rail on both sides adjacent to the toilet. The left hand side is moveable.

Baby changing is available in this WC.

 

Beer Garden/Outdoor Area/Smoking area
Our beer gardens can be a real sun trap. The secluded garden area with fountain and dining furniture offers an ultimate alfresco meal. Our lawn area allows guests to relax in the sunshine on our picnic benches. Order at the bar and the team will bring everything to you. If needed Staff can take your order at the Table but please ask before going to the Beer Garden areas.

The Beer Garden is open all year and smoking is permitted in this area.

Access to these areas is available at the rear of the pub with wheelchair access through a side gate into the Beer Garden. Level access is available from the car park.

The entrance/exit door leading to the outdoor areas is glass with markings and lever handle. It is 900mm/35.5ins

The tables and chairs throughout this area are moveable with access to wheelchairs.

 

Additional Information
All of our staff receive training that includes disability awareness training.

We have a set of evacuation procedures – should you require assistance someone will help you with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge.

We welcome all dogs to the Rose and Crown.

Please note all dogs are permitted only Bar & Beer Garden Areas.

A water bowl is available just outside the main entrance for assistance dogs.

A La Carte Menu - 12noon to 2:30pm Mon to Sat - Sundays 12noon to 9pm with a Sunday Lunch Menu
