Bigbury on Sea, a South Hams coastal village that’s less than half an hour from the Rose & Crown, offers a fun day out for couples and families alike. The beach is a haven for watersports lovers, with bodyboarding, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and more, as well as plenty of rockpools to explore. Overlooking the beach is Burgh Island, which can be easily reached for exploring on the infamous Sea Tractor!
With some of the best rock pools in the county, as well as a wide range of watersports, Wembury Beach is another great South Devon spot to get your feet wet and it’s only six miles from the Rose & Crown. If you fancy a more relaxing day, head to Wembury Marine Centre, or take one of the delightful walking paths to Wembury Woods or the Yealm Estuary.
